Steps to Holiday Home Ownership
Have you ever dreamed of owning a holiday lodge or caravan on the beautiful South-West Scottish coast but don’t know where to start? Maybe you visited the area growing up and want to make new memories with your family. Maybe you’ve found this breath-taking corner of the world on your own travels and want a place to call your own here.
When you buy a holiday home, you’re buying a holiday for life. And our Steps To Ownership are just want you need to make the process simple and stress-free.
- What makes Coastal Kippford special: Have you visited Coastal Kippford before? If not, you’re in for a treat! This is the first step in the process. Allowing you to see the site for yourself and explore all it has to offer. We want this to be the perfect environment for your holiday home. Open all year round with 25 mile views, this is a tranquil place with impressive and always maintained landscaping.
- Choosing your perfect holiday home: There’s a lot to choose from, we know! But we’re on hand to help you choose your perfect holiday home. We have a number of caravans for sale and lodges for sale that are available for viewing seven days a week. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to ask us for further information.
- Pitch fees and costs: Transparent from the start, we don’t want you to experience any hidden surprises while buying your holiday home. That’s why you can trust us to tell you everything you need while walking through this process. You’ll hear all about pitch fees and any other costs. All our holiday homes are priced to include siting, decking and connection to mains services so once you’ve bought yours, you can sit back and relax knowing we’re sorting the rest.
- Purchase agreement: Buying a holiday home is a big thing. Before you part with any money, we will give you a copy of our Purchase Agreement to read over and sign. Our Purchase Agreement has been produced in line with guidance from the industry body British Holiday & Home Parks Association. For holiday homes already on the Park, a 10% deposit is required. Lodges or caravans that need to be ordered by us from the manufacturer require a 25% deposit. The remaining balance is payable prior to the date of entry.
- Entering your holiday home: On the date of entry, you will be given a detailed handover so you know how everything works in your holiday home. A wonderful part of Coastal Kippford is that our brilliant staff are on Park 24/7. Should you require assistance at any time there will always be someone on hand to help.
- Renting your space: Some Owners choose to rent out their holiday home when they are not using it. If this is something that appeals to you, we’d be more than happy to talk to you about this option in more detail.

Rental Income
Some Owners choose to rent their holiday home during the weeks/months they aren’t using it. Please get in touch if you’d like a copy of our current rental policy.
Viewings
We insist on all prospective buyers viewing a holiday home prior to us accepting a deposit. This allows potential purchasers to view the pitch location and inspect the holiday home prior to committing to the purchase.
There is a high demand for holiday homes at the Park so we recommend acting quickly. We appreciate that it’s not always possible to come to the Park ‘at the drop of a hat’ but unfortunately we are unable to ‘hold’ caravans or accept a ‘holding deposit’ over the phone in advance of a viewing.
As soon as a deposit has been taken for a holiday home any other interested parties will be notified immediately to cause as little inconvenience as possible.
