Holiday lodges in Scotland are simply perfect for people who want an affordable Scottish holiday in spacious accommodation. Our lodges have practically all the creature comforts you have at home, and are ideal for those who have a large family or want to holiday with friends.
Large Capacity
Many holiday lodges can comfortably sleep 6 adults and 2 children – the pull out sofa bed in the lounge being a favourite with the kids! With a roomy living area, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, family shower/bathroom and en-suite shower room, a lodge provides plenty of space. Even if the weather is unkind, renting a holiday lodge gives you the option to stay in together, watching a little TV or playing games.
In comparison, if you opt to stay in a hotel, there’s nowhere private to sit together to have some quality family time. You’ll either all have to cram into someone’s room and perch on the bed, or gather together in public spaces along with everyone else; neither being a great option.
Dining In
Another huge advantage of renting holiday lodges in Scotland is having the option to dine in. For large families, eating out every day for every meal can prove very costly. The modern kitchens in holiday lodges are equipped with everything you need to create a culinary masterpiece: oven/grill, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and, thank goodness, a dishwasher to take care of the washing up once you have all eaten.
Exterior Area
Many holiday lodges have an exterior area exclusively for your use which comes into its own when the weather is kind. Many of our lodges have barbeques and if you book a VIP lodge you’ll have the use of a hot tub – there’s nothing quite as relaxing as sitting in the warm water and letting your stresses melt away.
Location
By definition, lodges tend to be located in the countryside or hillside, so not only do they provide roomy living quarters, but they are the perfect base for exploring the locality. In South West Scotland, holiday lodges are in easy reach of so much of the beautiful countryside, such as the coast, lochs, hills and forests. Depending on where you are staying, you’re probably not too far away from restaurants, so when no one wants to volunteer as chef, you’ll have plenty of eateries nearby to choose from.
Affordable
When you consider all that a holiday lodge offers, the rental prices are very affordable. For example, a 3 bedroom Pinehurst Lodge at Coastal Kippford, which sleeps 6 adults and 2 children, costs just £553 for a 3 night weekend break in January – working out at just over £69 per person.
In August 2018, the same lodge costs £1,215 to rent for a week – around £152 per person…. for a whole week’s worth of holiday accommodation!
When choosing holiday lodges in Scotland to rent, check the facilities on offer before you book and make sure you choose a lodge that has everything you need. Some may also be dog friendly – at Coastal Kippford many of our spacious lodges are suitable for doggie companions.
