Celebrating 20 years of David Bellamy Awards

We are proud to announce Coastal Kippford has been a David Bellamy Award winner for 20 years (since 1997!) for our commitment to conservation.  Our award winning holiday park has been developed by different generations of the Aston family.

The eminent botanist complimented us personally with ‘Gold’ during his visit to the Park in 2006 on our ‘…beautiful and diverse park…’.

Since this time, Owners Robin and Gail Aston, have continued to invest in the Park to protect and enhance the environment.  Hundreds of indigenous trees have been planted on the park, creating a natural haven for red squirrels, badgers, red kites, roe deer and other wildlife.

Our carefully managed pond is also a focus for many speciesdavid bellamy award including newts, frogs, toads, larva, pond snails, water scorpions, pond skaters, water beetles and bloodworms.

It’s great to be recognised for the hard work and dedication of all the staff at the Park, making Coastal Kippford one of the most beautiful holiday parks in Dumfries and Galloway.

But don’t take our word for it – here’s what one of our customers said:

“Coastal Kippford is a beautiful holiday park that has been built within the local environment without taking away the natural beauty of the surrounding area. Without doubt the best site I have ever stayed on and cannot recommend highly enough.” (TripAdvisor, 24 September 2017).

Future plans for the Park include ongoing tree management to allow more sunlight onto the ground, open up views and allow the mature shrubs to provide more colourful screening between plots.
